You too can help the homeless. Our nonprofit A1ANDALL reflects our dedication to funnel our cooperative's success back into the neighborhoods that have nurtured and supported us - and this winter we are focused on helping Road2Home build houses for the homeless throughout Whatcom County.

Our Current Project for Road2Home

Launched in 2019, Road2Home exists to support individuals experiencing homelessness—adults aged 18 and older, many of whom are 55+ and medically fragile. Road2Home is dedicated to walking alongside people and helping them stabilize, heal, and rebuild their lives - built on respect, understanding, and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to thrive in a safe, stable home.

Road2Home operates two core programs designed to meet both immediate and long-term needs. At Gardenview Tiny Home Village, located at Woburn and Lakeway in Bellingham, 35 individual units provide transitional housing and safety for those on their way to permanent homes. On-site case managers work closely with each guest to identify barriers, set achievable goals, and take the next steps toward lasting stability.

Through their Ally Program—the only one of its kind in Whatcom County - Road2Home recruits and trains community volunteers who are paired with clients to offer steady companionship and help with the daily responsibilities of life. The program also extends to outreach efforts to unsheltered individuals living on the streets, in cars, or in encampments and offering them survival essentials such as tents, sleeping bags, warm clothing, food, and hygiene kits, while connecting them to shelter, medical care, and other vital services.

We all know that housing is an issue in Bellingham and beyond. The economics just don’t make sense for a lot of people, and many are struggling just to put a roof over their heads.

But there is a very simple solution: build more housing. We can go on and on about other solutions, but this one is simply the most obvious and the most effective. Bar none. In fact, you can read their 2024 Impact Report here.
